 Start with making a Menu:  Make a list of 3 of each meal that your family would eat and that could be prepared and stored easily.  *Add more meals as you go…

                                Breakfast #1-  FrenchToast, Syrup, Juice

                            Breakfast #2-  Cold Cereal, milk

                                Breakfast #3-  Oatmeal with Milk

                                Lunch #1-  Boxed Macaroni & Cheese, Corn

                                Lunch #2-  Fish Sticks, Rice, Green Beans

                                Lunch #3-  Lunch Meat Sandwiches, Chips

                                Dinner #1- Spaghetti, Dinner Rolls, Green Beans

                                Dinner #2- Tacos, Chips, Carrot Sticks

                                Dinner #3- Hawaiian  Hay Stacks, Rice

Now… Make a detailed list of the Ingredients- Make a detailed list of all ingredients and their quantities that it takes to feed your family for each meal.

                                Breakfast #1 French Toast, Juice

                                French Toast: 6 eggs, 1 tbsp. Sugar, ¼ c. milk, ½ tsp.  Cinnamon,

1 loaf of bread

Syrup: ¼ bottle of syrup

Juice- 1 12 oz. Can frozen juice

Breakfast #2- Cold Cereal, milk

Cold Cereal: 1 Box of Cereal

Milk: ¼ of gallon

Breakfast #3- Oatmeal with milk

Oatmeal- 8 packets of flavored oatmeal

Milk- apx. 2 cups

Now…Decide How Often Your Family Will Eat Each Meal:

-16 days of Cereal, milk

-6 days of French Toast, Juice

-8 days of Oatmeal with milk

Now…Make a Shopping listDo the Math- Multiply your ingredients list for each meal by the number of times your family will eat each meal in a month.                                            1 Month of Breakfasts

-          16 Boxes of Cereal

-          6  12 oz Cans frozen Juice

-          8 boxes of 8 packets of Oatmeal

-          36 eggs (3 dozen)

-          5 gallons of Milk

-          ½ cup Sugar

-          3 tsp. Cinnamon

-          6 loaves of Bread
